SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
FORMATION UNDER THE GLOBAL CRISIS FRAMEWORK

They
say market can solve any problems within a private enterprise system. I can’t
fully agree with such marketers’ statement, who generally see their only
responsibility in favor of general public in earning profits. In my opinion it
leads to the global crises, such as the USA Great Depression of
nineteen-thirties. The Nobel Prize winner John Steinbeck wrote, “The economy
collapsed. Gross national product dropped by almost half. Unemployment rose
sharply. People had no jobs, money, food and hope.” [3, p. 38]  

Just
as important as profits are the social responsibilities that business must
meet. It means “a business’s consideration of society’s well-being and consumer
satisfaction.” [1, p. 41] This principle is of great importance during the crisis
times, because some private businessmen striving to maximize current profits,
forget about their socially responsible role. As a result, withdrawing money
back from banks, they create crisis situations, because an economic crisis always
starts from financial crash. In my point of view private business alone can’t
provide living standards within a global crisis. It is of great need of government
and social authorities helping hand. To support this thesis I will try to
demonstrate some arguments in its favor. 

Firstly,
let’s have a look through the mixed economic systems. As I understand the problem,
mixed economies have a government intervention, regarding in two ways:
ownership (government firms produce up to 20% of Gross Domestic Product) and
influence on economic decisions. [2, p. 50] Such position, for example, helped Franklin
D. Roosevelt on the basis of his government social-responsible policy led the
nation through its worst economic crises. Moreover, new dams, roads and canals
were constructed within the Great Depression.

My
second argument is a situation subject to coronavirus pandemic that has
engulfed the world. The USA and European private hospitals and clinics couldn’t
hack the virus attack, because of their weak facilities. On the other hand, the
government strong medical system permitted the Russian Federation to overcome
the problem more or less easily.

Finally,
I would like to mention that some non-profit charity organizations make
contributions to the formation of social responsibility system. For example, now the third richest man in the world Bill Gates is working for The Gates Charity Foundation
with over thirty billion dollars.  It provides money for health, education
and other social projects, preferably to the countries under the global crises
framework.

To
conclude my arguments in favor of social responsibility formation under the
global crisis it should be stated that in a crisis inefficient managers usually
carry out a typical deals, including a rejection of personnel, sale of
property, etc., while the effective managers, on the other hand, use the crisis
to achieve a new quality of business based on the values of morality, social
responsibility and consciousness under the formation of government and social
authorities as alternative of current profit. I can agree with this point of
view.
